These are my new business cards… Not a brilliant photo I know (I never professed to be a photographer :/) but they are beautiful! I want to thank Jam Jar Print for them. They did my original ones which I was really chuffed with, just grey and white but these are super and have Silver Foiling, real posh! To think I ‘won’ them just by following Jam Jar Print on twitter….I am one lucky bunny! many thanks to Owen, Ed and everyone else at Jam Jar!
I have been really busy of late what with one thing and another so it has taken me an age to get around to posting an update on Mr and Mrs Spear. Life gets like that at times doesn’t it? I have even been getting going on with Christmas – oh dear I said it – by making some Christmas cards. Nothing elaborate you understand (work wise that is) I cheated and bought some digistamps from Pink Petticoat and have made loads! Anyway back to the Spears! Here are some photos of the happy couple
I was privileged to meet Annette at Ashton Court Wedding Fayre when she commissioned me to make her a tiara for her wedding day. It was quite a challenge as Roses were required and I haven’t made them in a while. It went well though and I was pleased with the result – so was Annette thank goodness! We met up a couple of times to make sure I was on the right path and poor Annette even tried it on when is was sellotaped together!
This Sunday… it has come around fast but this time I am well prepared thank goodness! It is not unusual to see me running round like a headless chicken right up until the last moment but not this time! (well I hope anyway…best laid plans and all that)
It is a Wow Weddings event and Teresa and Darren work hard to make sure everyone has a great day. I confess I really like working with them. In the past I have done the Bath wedding show so one in Bristol is a first for me and Ashton Court is a beautiful setting. Entrance is free so do come along and take a peek, my pieces are great for all occasions and outfits – jeans to evening dress. Be sure to look me out – I would love to meet you!
Lovely day today in the studio, good fun and achieved something! I am preparing for the Wedding Fayre at Ashton Court – well I say preparing but I have everything I need I just wanted to play a little. Playing has resulted in a set of rings… several sizes to so that should make life easy. They will be for display really but should someone want a set of Sterling silver rings (maybe a stackable ring?) I will have them available.
The post brought some great pleasure to… my moo mini cards arrived and they are fabulous! I have been able to display some of my work on them which can’t be bad can it? Along with the cards came some money off vouchers for first time users so if you would like the code do message or email me and I will pass it on. Here they are… aren’t they lovely!
Three of the cards show goodies from the Ellipse Range and the other an Orchid Torque. Hoping to get some more cards when I have had some new items photographed.
Well I have photographed the results of the last two projects… sad to say the photos don’t do them much justice. I really must find myself a photographer!
The Orchid Tiara is based on an orchid Spray. It has five orchids and is finished with five of the finest pearls, they really are fabulous quality and I have been saving them for this very tiara. Made from Sterling Silver by me each orchid is different than the others. They can be little devils to solder onto the band!
The Lily comb is again made in Sterling Silver and had a large lily set with cubic zirconia to emulate the stamens… these won’t mark your clothes though! I love flowers and can happily make them for days!
I hope you can see past the photos (these really were little devils to work with) and like my new pieces. They will be available at Ashton Court Wedding Fayre, hope to see you there!
Haven’t been to well lately and haven’t managed to do much but this week I got going again (thank goodness) I needed to get some things done for the upcoming Bristol Wedding Fayre at Ashton Court so decided to make some new things. First is this Sterling Silver Lily buttonhole. It was a pleasure to make and I think it looks pretty good! I have also got an Orchid Tiara/Headband almost finished. This one is different than the previous one, more orchids and some really beautiful, top grade pearls. Can’t wait to see the finished product myself! I have some more ideas up my sleeve – just got to hope I have enough time to do them all. One thing is for sure I will make them even if it isn’t in time!
(p.s. my photographs are getting better don’t you think?)
Well it has come around again… Mothers Day that is. I have been lucky enough to receive a gorgeous Jasmine plant from my daughter Lisa and we are being taken out to lunch by our other daughter Nicola. All this after having had a few days alone as our foster daughter is on camp. I am now sitting here watching a film, a take off of Uncle Buck with John Candy. This one has a woman in the main role but otherwise is the same story. Must confess I prefer the John Candy one. Lovely end to the week!
I have had the pieces back from the casters so I will be able to make a new piece in the Ellipse range. It is quite a complicated piece and was suffering from the amount of soldering involved so I decided to make it much easier on myself and get the components cast, less to go wrong (I have already attempted the piece many times and have wasted a lot of silver as well as time!) I hope to complete the new piece this week and am quite excited about it… been a long time from concept and a few disasters inbetween. I shall keep you updated on progress.
I took the opportunity to make up one of my tiaras and some earrings to match this week. Always popular it is the Lilies and Pearls, so pretty. I had made it with Swarovski Crystals for a change but it didn’t look as good – much better with the Freshwater Pearls.
I had a meeting this last week with Selinna of Alissia Couture Bespoke Fashion, corsets and bridalwear to discuss a photo shoot. This will be the first shoot I have participated in and the prospect is very exciting! It is also a great privilege to be working with her – lovely person as well as fabulous designer. Of course we will be working with others from the wedding industry, photographer, make up artist, models and other suppliers. Unfortunately I have been suffering since the meeting so have had to take a bit of a break but will be fully back in harness for next week. Poor thing is moving this week so she is flat out, moving isn’t much fun is it? Still I am sure it will be worth it! Not only does Selinna design but she also runs workshops where you can not only learn to sew but also how to cut patterns – a great asset for anyone. For me though, her gowns are incredible – offering something stunning no matter what your style. With it’s leather corset this is my favourite at the moment – a stunner!
